IRISCAT starts a cycle of research webinars focused on COVID-19

The Alliance of Institutes for Health Research and Innovation in Catalonia (IRISCAT) is organizing its first joint scientific dissemination action: a series of webinars that will address different topics related to biomedical research and COVID-19. These online research seminars will be held every two weeks and the first one, led by Dr. Manuel Puig, from the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital and Research Institute, will take place on 27 May at 4 pm.

In this way, we adapt to the new reality, imposed by the coronavirus, but it is also a bet to reach the maximum possible audience and with the online format we facilitate access to interested people. In addition, the seminars will be registered so that they can be viewed at any time.

This first cycle consists of 6 seminars that during the next weeks alternate basic and clinical research at COVID-19. The second cycle will begin after the summer with a program still to be determined.

The first of the webinars will be Why diabetes and metabolic syndrome account for a worse outcome in COVID-19 infection?, by Dr. Manuel Puig Domingo, acting director of the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute and head of the Endocrinology and Nutrition Service of the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital.

It is available  the link to sign up

Registration is free of charge.
