  • To attract international talent in the different areas of interest, as well as succeed to secure international funding, specially from the European Union.
  • To increase shared-decision making in clinical practice, linking guidelines and clinical data.
  • To foster multicenter national and international clinical trials in the area of surgery patients’ safety and perioperative medicine, as well as the area of non-pharmacological interventions, and consolidate both as Transversal Programmes within Sant Pau Research Institute.
  • To promote research and actions oriented to the implementation of the evidence in order to improve quality and appropriateness of the health-care.
  • To consolidate the adoption of a gender perspective into the design, conduct and reporting of our research.
