About the Unit / Research Group
UICEC Sant Pau provides comprehensive support to researchers in the development of independent research projects promoted by the Sant Pau Research Institute (and not sponsored by the pharmaceutical industry), covering methodological, regulatory, administrative, financial, and practical aspects, subject to compliance with ethical requirements, legislation, and Good Clinical Practice standards.
The Sant Pau UICEC is part of the Spanish Clinical Research Network, an organization that supports the development of independent multicentre clinical trials, and belongs to the SCReN platform (Spanish Clinical Research Network ISCIII).
Essential requirements
- Minimum qualification required: Higher Vocational Education and Training qualification (Higher-Level Vocational Training / FPII) or equivalent.
- Oral and written knowledge of the two official languages of Catalonia. If the candidate does not have this knowledge, the selected candidate must demonstrate it or undertake to acquire, within a period not exceeding one year, an adequate command of both official languages of Catalonia.
- Intermediate-level knowledge of office software tools —Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.—.
- Training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP/ICH-GCP E6(R3)).

- Clinical Trials Assistant (CTA) training course.
Duties
The selected candidate will carry out, among others, the following duties:
- Receive, register, and verify the integrity and completeness of applications and study files.
- Apply the workflows and checklists established in the SOPs for each type of study.
- Provide support in the preparation, initial submission, and follow-up of regulatory documentation for studies undergoing assessment by the CEIm, AEMPS, and other competent authorities, including submission through CTIS where applicable.
- Support study start-up activities: collection and follow-up of documentation from study sites and research teams (CVs, ICH E6 (R3) GCP certificates, agreements, and delegation of duties).
- Monitor deadlines for outstanding documentation and agreed actions, and identify and escalate issues to the responsible personnel.
- Process protocol amendments and relevant study documentation before the CEIm, AEMPS, and other competent authorities, through CTIS where applicable, and follow them through to resolution.
- Maintain traceability of decisions and documentation, without assuming responsibility for scientific, regulatory, or risk assessments, which fall under the responsibility of the relevant personnel.
- Keep the tracking records (trackers) for all processed studies and administrative data up to date in the tools available for these purposes.
- Manage study documentation —version control, signatures, communications, and filing (TMS/eTMF and ISF)— ensuring full traceability.
- Record notifications of serious breaches through CTIS once they have been assessed by the responsible person and the corresponding root cause analysis and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) report has been prepared, and provide support in response to any clarification requests from regulatory authorities.
- Collaborate in the induction and supervision of interns and newly recruited staff, introducing them to the duties, workflows, and procedures associated with the CTA position.
- Carry out other similar tasks assigned by the responsible person, within the scope of the position's duties and professional category.

- Permanent employment contract.
- Annual working time of 1.627,5 hours (37,5 hours/week).
- Salary in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
- Integration into the UICEC Unit.
