Call for applications for a T1A Junior Laboratory Technician position within the Perinatal and Women's Medicine Research Group. Application deadline: 15 October 2026 at 3:00 p.m.

About the Unit / Research Group

This research group focuses on the study of diseases arising from placental insufficiency, such as preeclampsia and fetal growth restriction, as well as maternal lifelong cardiovascular risk, fetal cardiac abnormalities, and neurodevelopment.

The group coordinates the national RICORS-SAMID network entitled “Spanish Research Network on Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Developmental Health” (RD24/0013/0001, ISCIII), which continues the previous RICORS-SAMID network (RD21/0012/0001, ISCIII). It has also been recognized as a consolidated research group by the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR) of the Government of Catalonia (2021 SGR 01002).
 

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum qualification required: Higher Vocational Education and Training Diploma (Advanced Vocational Training / FPII) or equivalent.
  • Oral and written proficiency in the two official languages of Catalonia or, alternatively, the selected candidate must demonstrate, or commit to acquiring within a maximum period of one year, an adequate command of both official languages.
  • Intermediate level of office software tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Generalitat de Catalunya certification for working with laboratory animals (Functions B and C).
     

The following will be valued

  • Generalitat de Catalunya certification for working with laboratory animals (Function A).
  • Experience in experimental procedures involving rats, including housing, handling, sample collection, and related activities.
  • Experience in biomedical laboratory tasks, including inventory management, sample collection, handling and processing, biobank maintenance, and waste management.
  • Experience in database management and updating.

Duties

  • Providing support to the animal facility in conducting experimental procedures involving rats.
  • Supporting research laboratory activities related to sample collection for ongoing clinical projects.
  • Updating and maintaining sample databases associated with ongoing projects.
     

We Offer

  • Permanent employment contract linked to the project: “Statin Intervention for Severe Early-Onset Placental Insufficiency: A Randomized Controlled Trial Assessing Daily Administration as a Treatment Strategy (STATIN-PRE Trial)”, funded by Fundació La Marató 202418-30.



  • Annual workload of 954.8 hours (22 hours per week).
  • Salary according to the applicable collective agreement.
  • Integration into the Perinatal and Women's Medicine Research Group.
