About the Unit / Department
The Communications and External Relations area was established in 2021 with the aim of enhancing the Institute's reputation and visibility, as well as strengthening and establishing new relationships with key stakeholders.
The Communications Unit communicates and disseminates the innovative activities and cutting-edge research carried out by the Sant Pau Research Institute at national and international level. Through activities and projects, the Unit engages with the public and different stakeholders in order to promote engagement and raise awareness of biomedical and health research.
The Unit is responsible for corporate image, media relations, citizen engagement, science education, internal communications, and fundraising.
The Communications Unit is accredited as a Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+i) by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT). It is a member of the Network of Scientific Culture and Innovation Units, which brings together key stakeholders involved in science and innovation communication and outreach in Spain.
The selected candidate will contribute to conceptualizing, coordinating, and implementing communication projects and initiatives, such as outreach, fundraising, and informational campaigns aimed at the different audiences connected to the Research Institute (citizens, schools, professionals, the healthcare sector, companies, etc.).
Essential requirements
- Bachelor's degree in the Social Sciences (preferably a Bachelor's degree in Advertising and Public Relations or Marketing).
- Oral and written knowledge of the two official languages of Catalonia. If the candidate does not have this knowledge, the selected candidate must demonstrate it or undertake to acquire, within a period not exceeding one year, an adequate command of both official languages of Catalonia.
- Advanced level of English.
- More than 4 years of previous experience in the comprehensive management of campaigns and multichannel content aimed at citizens.
- Master's degree or postgraduate qualification in Corporate Marketing or Communications, Digital Marketing, or Fundraising.

Duties
The selected candidate will carry out, among others, the following duties:
- Conceptualization of communication initiatives, communication plans, and campaigns.
- Definition and implementation of strategies to attract collaborators, companies, or public-private institutions for the Institute's outreach and education projects.
- End-to-end project management.
- Management of contracts and invoicing for external suppliers.
- Definition of KPIs and preparation of performance reports.
- Support in content writing, management of owned channels, and development of high-quality materials.
- Proposal and implementation of marketing and fundraising campaigns.
- Design of and contribution to the strategy for science-and-society and outreach activities.
We offer
- Temporary replacement employment contract.
- Annual working time of 1.627,5 hours (37.5 hours/week).
- Salary in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
- Integration into the Communications Unit.
