Molecular Pathology of Gynaecologic Cancer

El grupo centra su actividad en la investigación molecular y traslacional de los tumores de mama y ginecológicos. Su investigación se orienta a la aplicabilidad de los resultados en el ámbito biomédico, en particular en el desarrollo de métodos que contribuyan a mejorar el diagnóstico, el pronóstico y el tratamiento de estos tumores.

• Pathogenic mechanisms of gynecological cancer (breast/endometrial/ovarian cancer). (Pijuan, Lara).
• Molecular mechanisms of stromal response and immunosuppression in breast and endometrial cancer. (Pijuan, Lara).
• Clinical application of prognostic factors in common cancers (breast, endometrial, ovarian, etc.). (Pijuan, Lara).
• Clinical application of tumor markers. (Pijuan, Lara).
• Molecular biology of uterine and extrauterine sarcomas. (Pijuan, Lara).

Scientific Challenges

• Progress as a productive translational gynecological cancer research group, capable of competing with other highly visible groups in Barcelona that publish regular articles in reputable journals.
• Cooperate with other groups at the national and international levels.
