The Pediatric Research Group is an expanding team of researchers made up of pediatricians who, alongside their clinical work in the hospital, are deeply committed to advancing pediatric research to improve the care and treatment of the children we serve. Aware of the limitations posed by the relatively small population in our area of influence, we strongly recognize the value of collaborating with other centers to enhance the quality and impact of pediatric research.
Our objective is to build a cohesive and inclusive network that brings together all pediatric healthcare professionals in our region who share an interest in research. This includes pediatricians working in both hospital and primary care settings, with the aim of fostering community-based studies that address the major health challenges affecting children.
Our main research areas focus on pediatric hemato-oncology, particularly in the field of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation; infectious diseases; and pediatric and neonatal critical care. Within this latter field, we develop research lines focused on neonatal resuscitation, neonatal respiratory failure, and the development of personalized devices and interfaces using 3D printing in neonatology, aimed at improving respiratory support, reducing complications, and better adapting treatments to the anatomical needs of newborns.
