Barcelona Ref. 2026/088

Call for a hire a researcher to join the Cellular Immunotherapy and Gene Therapy Group. Deadline: June 25, 2026, 3:00 pm

About the Group

The Cellular Immunotherapy and Gene Therapy Group (GITG) focuses on the study of genetically modified T cells that express chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) and their clinical application in patients with hematologic malignancies

The GITG group at IR-Sant Pau is a consolidated and pioneering team in the development and production of CART cells for treating patients with hematologic cancers. The group developed a clinical trial with HSP-CAR30 cells for patients with Hodgkin lymphoma—the first of its kind in Europe—and recently initiated a second clinical trial in patients with refractory B-cell lymphomas using memory CART19 cells, a unique project in Europe. The HSP-CAR30 and HSP-CAR19M products are entirely manufactured at Sant Pau by the GITG group in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.

The current research lines focus on:

  • Evaluating the antitumor efficacy of memory T cell subsets.
  • Studying genetically modified stem memory T cells with CAR.
  • Developing innovative 4th generation CARs targeting antigens expressed in hematologic cancers.
  • Conducting CART cell immunotherapy clinical trials in patients with lymphoid malignancies.
