About the Unit / Research Group
The Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Research Group focuses its research on Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, atypical parkinsonism, tremor, and other movement disorders. The group conducts clinical and translational research aimed at understanding the neuronal mechanisms involved in cognitive impairment and neuropsychiatric symptoms, developing specific diagnostic tools, and analysing responses to pharmacological treatments. Its research integrates methodologies such as neuroimaging, neuropsychology, clinical assessment, brain stimulation, genetics, and the study of biomarkers in biological fluids.
Essential requirements
- PhD degree obtained within the last five years.
- Current employment relationship with the Sant Pau Research Institute.
- Oral and written knowledge of the two official languages of Catalonia or, alternatively, the selected candidate must demonstrate, or undertake to acquire within a maximum period of one year, an adequate command of both official languages of Catalonia.
- Advanced level of English.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Desirable qualifications
- PhD research focused on cognitive disorders associated with Parkinson's disease.
- Knowledge of basic techniques for studying biomarkers in biofluids and skin biopsies.
- Knowledge of statistical tools for the analysis of longitudinal data.
Main responsibilities
- Collaborate on the research projects of the Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Research Group.
- Participate as a member of the research team in the group's clinical trials.
- Analyse longitudinal data on the effects of cholinergic stimulation in cognitive impairment associated with Parkinson's disease.
- Analyse biomarkers in skin and biofluids associated with cognitive impairment in Parkinson's disease.

- Annual working schedule of 1,627.50 hours (37.5 hours/week).
