About the Unit / Group

The research group will work on Multimodal Neuroimaging of Neurodegeneratioin and Cognition in Ageing, an emerging group aligned with Area 3: Neurological Diseases Neuroscience and Mental Health, focuses on studying the use of multimodal neuroimaging techniques to study the neural correlates and molecular basis of cognitive decline and dementia in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's disease and related dementias

Essential requirements

  • Minimum required qualification: PhD.
  • Research stays in foreign institutions.
  • High-quality scientific track record.
  • Ability to lead an emerging research group.
  • Ability to manage the development of an emerging research group.
  • Ability to act as Principal Investigator (PI) of their own research projects.
  • Accreditation by the External Scientific Committee of IR Sant Pau. Skills will be valued
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in research of neuroimaging techniques
  • Team leadership
  • Ability to stablish links between different research areas
  • Participation in national and international research networks
  • Research fundraising through competitive calls
  • Contribution to the implementation of cooperative research projects
  • Have successfully finished the Miguel Servet Programme

Functions

  • Lead the group and design research projects aligned with the emerging group's lines of research. Define the challenges to be achieved.
  • Apply for public and private grants (to be submitted in national/international calls) to ensure the group's research and sustainability.
  • Generate knowledge through rigorous methods and interdisciplinary approaches.
  • Publish scientific articles in indexed and prestigious journals.
  • Present results at conferences, seminars and academic and scientific forums.
  • Communicate scientific advances to society through participation in outreach activities.
  • Train undergraduate, master's and doctoral students.
  • Promote the acquisition of advanced scientific and technical skills among group members.
  • Establish collaborations with other research groups, both local and international.
  • Participate in scientific networks, consortia and interdisciplinary projects (national/international).
  • Ensure the applicability of research results, such as patents or innovative products, and guarantee the transfer of results or knowledge to the productive sector and society in general. Offered
