About the Unit / Group

The Memory Unit of Sant Pau Hospital, composed of specialists in neurology, neuropsychology, nursing, biology, engineering, and laboratory techniques, has facilitated the development of translational research lines that combine clinical observation, patient and family contact, and basic laboratory research. In recent years, the group has participated in numerous high-impact scientific publications and presentations at major national and international congresses in the field of neurodegenerative diseases. Additionally, with a strong commitment to contributing to the development of new and improved treatments for Alzheimer’s disease, the group has participated in numerous pharmacological trials.

Essential requirements

  • Minimum qualification required: Higher Education (University Diploma or University Degree) or equivalent.
  • Oral and written knowledge of the two official languages of Catalonia or, failing this, the selected candidate must demonstrate, or undertake to acquire, within a period not exceeding one year, a correct knowledge of two official languages in Catalonia
  • Intermediate level of English
  • Intermediate level of office tools (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.). Skills will be valued
  • Experience in systems biology and in the analysis of proteomic and transcriptomic data.
  • Data science, AI, computational analysis, machine learning, and deep learning applied to biomedical research and medicine.
  • Experience in biology or biomedical research projects.
  • Experience with Linux, R, and Pandas.
  • System and server administration.

Functions

  • Develop code and workflows for systems biology and analysis of proteomic and transcriptomic data, supporting researchers.
  • Develop AI and deep learning algorithms to facilitate image analysis (neuroimaging and microscopy images).
