On Wednesday, February 12, at 6 pm, Danna Perlaza, a pre-doctoral researcher at the Memory Unit of the IR Sant Pau, will give a talk at the Guinardó Civic Centre entitled ‘It’s in our genes!’.
In this talk, we will discuss genetics: what it is, to what extent it determines who we are, and how it relates to our health. Did you know that small changes in our DNA directly influence the development of certain diseases? In fact, many genetic diseases are hereditary! Do you think it is possible to predict the risk of developing diseases based on our genetics? Can gene editing cure diseases?
