On Wednesday, January 15, at 6 pm, Ángel Mora, PhD researcher with the research group on DNA repair syndromes and cancer predisposition at IR Sant Pau, will give a talk at the Guinardó Civic Centre entitled ‘It’s not that rare to have a rare disease’.
Do you know what rare diseases are? It is estimated that there are over seven thousand of them, and although they are uncommon in the general population, it is not rare to have one. In this talk, we want to raise awareness of a reality that affects around three million people in Spain. We will discuss the origins of these diseases, many of which are genetic, and analyse some specific examples to discuss the current challenges in diagnosis and treatment.
Join us to discover how our Institute is contributing to research into these diseases!
