18:00 h New Seminar at CC Navas: The genetics of stroke – Cristina Gallego

On Tuesday, January 14, at 6 pm, Cristina Gallego, postdoctoral researcher with the Cerebrovascular Diseases Research Group at IR Sant Pau, will give a talk at the Navas Civic Centre entitled ‘The genetics of stroke’.

Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability in Europe. Fortunately, however, we can help reduce the risk of having a stroke by managing the factors that depend on our lifestyle. Nevertheless, the development of this disease, which affects the blood vessels supplying the brain, also has a genetic component.

Join us for this talk to discover how research enables us to identify the genes that increase the risk of stroke and how this brings us closer to being able to predict in the future which segments of the population are at higher or lower risk of developing the disease.

Address: Ptge. Torent, 1, 08027 Barcelona

Time: 18:00 h – 19:00 h
