On Wednesday, November 13, at 6 pm, Laura Escolà, a specialist at the Infectious Diseases Unit of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau and a researcher at the IR Sant Pau, will give a talk at the Guinardó Civic Centre entitled ‘The fight against superbugs’.
It is estimated that, within thirty years, the leading cause of death in hospitals will be related to infections caused by bacteria resistant to many of the antibiotics currently available. Do you know how these microorganisms manage to develop resistance? Can we slow down the process?
Come and find out how we are tackling this public health problem through research, the study of bacterial resistance mechanisms, new antibacterial molecules and the implementation of healthcare strategies for the better use of antimicrobial agents. We look forward to seeing you there!
Address: Rda. Guinardó, 113-141 Barcelona 08043
