This year, Alzheimer’s disease has been dominating the headlines, but do you know why?
On Thursday, January 16, at 6.30 pm, Laia Lidón and Danna Perlaza, researchers from the Sant Pau Memory Unit, will give a talk at Biblioteca de la Sagrada Familia entitled ‘Will we manage to cure Alzheimer’s disease?’.
Join us for this talk to discover how research is helping us advance our understanding of how to prevent, diagnose and, potentially, cure this disease. We will analyse what it involves, what happens to the brain when symptoms appear, where we currently stand in terms of treatment, and some of the latest scientific advances achieved in the laboratories of the Sant Pau Research Institute.
You’ll also be able to see and touch life-size 3D models of brains at three different stages of life: childhood, adulthood and old age. Can you work out which one corresponds to each stage and which one shows signs of the disease?
Get your brain working and come and find out with us!
