On Wednesday, March 5, at 6 pm, Esther Álvarez, a pre-doctoral researcher at the Memory Unit of the Sant Pau Research Institute, will give a talk at the Guinardó Civic Centre entitled ‘ALS: a disease that is becoming increasingly visible’.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disease that affects around 4,000 people in Spain and which, despite its growing social visibility, remains largely unknown from a scientific perspective. In this talk, we will explain everything that is known about the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, and we will review some of the latest scientific advances we have achieved in our laboratories, which highlight the need to continue researching the genetic causes of this disease.
Join us to discover how research is helping us to better understand this disease!
